About

Specialist in behavioural training using positive methods.

HI, I’m Christine Woodgate. I started training dogs as a volunteer at my local dog training club some 25 years ago, inspired by my first dog – a feisty Airedale Terrier called Oscar.  I am a Delta accredited trainer with a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services and continue to improve my skills with ongoing education.

I have completed a Certificate of Living and Learning with Animals (the science and technology of behaviour change) with Dr Susan Friedman and Behaviour Works, undertaken workshops with world leaders such as Peta Clarke (shaping dog behaviour), Michael Shikashio (dog aggression) and Dr. Moira Hechenleitner (separation anxiety in dogs).

I am an ongoing member of the Delta Society and the current Secretary of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia. Members of these organisations are bound by ethical policies to promote the use of humane and scientifically proven positive methods of training.

I founded Ain’t Misbehavin because of my love of dogs and a passionate belief that often the issues we have with our dogs are caused not by bad behaviour but rather a lack of clear communication.

The sheer joy and companionship of a dog as a best friend drives me every day to help people achieve such a relationship.

I am very happily owned by two Airedales – Keats and Tilda, a beautiful black greyhound called Rosie and Apple the cat.
